Jim Thompson house and no pictures in the house

We went to the Jim Thompson house in between the sky train stops. The complex itself is beautiful, and I especially loved the gardens and door frames.

Jim Thompson was an American who moved to Thailand after his stint with the US army ended. He devoted himself to reviving the craft of silk weaving within the country, and soon gained substantial wealth and notoriety from his endeavors. He also gained fame for the construction of the six teak buildings, the house we then were touring. The house was built in authentic Thai style, elevated a full story above the ground, as well as the walls being painted with a red paint used as preservative in old Thai houses, among other things.

"On march 26, 1967, Jim Thompson disappeared while on a visit to the Cameron highlands in Malaysia. Not a single valid clue has turned up in the ensuing years as to what might have happened to him. His famous Thai house however, remains as a lasting reminder of his creativity and his deep love for Thailand."

Unfortunately there were no pictures allowed inside the house, but enjoy some photos of the garden.
